MBE PROGRAMME AT SoE
Following the trend of pioneering
efforts of parent university, School of Economics in 1992
introduced the MBE programme in consultation with the
Department of Economics, South Campus, Delhi University. The
programme was modeled on the pattern of MBE programme at
Harvard Business School.
The students coming from diverse backgrounds
such as Economics, Commerce and Physical Sciences are
admitted to the course after a rigorous selection procedure
at an all India level. With its four semesters combined,
supplemented with eight weeks of corporate attachment after
the second semester, the course provides a unique model of
education- a three way partnership among motivated students,
caring faculty, and participating industries- is recognised
as a necessity for learning.
An MBE'ian achieves proficiency in management
science, equipped with the tools of Economics both
qualitative and quantitative. The quantitative aspect of
Economics is covered by in-depth study of the subjects like
Econometrics, Demand Forecasting and Operations Research,
and the qualitative aspect being covered by Micro-Economics,
Macro-Economics and International Economics.
The dynamic nature of the curriculum is
maintained by subjects like Business Environment in India
and Economic Policy, Management Information System,
Corporate Policy and Strategic Planning.

offers specialisation in one of the conventional skills of
management- Marketing, Finance and Systems.

Management subjects teach, how a manager should act, implement and coordinate.Qualitative and Quantitative tools of Economics like Econometrics, Operations Research and Demand Forecasting teach to analyse and optimise the target under the given economic environment.
