Unique Features of MIB
Upholding the tradition of excellence in higher education, the University launched a two years full time “Master of International Business” programme in 1993. The course has been developed and progressively groomed with the academic consonance of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi.
To create managers who can handle international business, SoE offers as an integral part of the MIB programme, functional literacy in one of the foreign languages - German or French.
Port and Industrial Visits
The study of various aspects of international trade is supplemented with visits to the Inland Container Depot, Pithampur and JNPT, Mumbai, where the students are exposed to various aspects of Customs operations. These visits are synchronised with the course work to help them gain practical knowledge, exposure to real-life problems and to prepare them for professional careers
Besides classroom instructions, students undertake research projects in second, third and final semesters. These are designed to enhance their comprehension of the problems faced by domestic industry at the global front. They are required to research intensively on the topic given and make a presentation to an expert panel.
Each candidate works on a project for a period of 6-8 weeks at the end of the first semester. The objective is to allow the candidates intense, day-to-day interaction with organisations. This enables the candidates to apply the knowledge they have gained during the first year of the programme through coursework and experimental learning to an existing problem. It also facilitates an informed career choice by the participants and gives an opportunity to organisations to evaluate summer trainees for future employment
